GUIDELINES:
poetry: up to 5 pieces at a time, no length limit
prose: up to 2 pieces at a time, 1000 words maximum
There are no restrictions on subject.
You can submit both prose and poetry genres at the same time.
We accept simultaneous submissions, so feel free to submit to other journals or awards.
If accepted somewhere else, shoot us an email to withdraw. We’ll be celebrating right with you!
We are open to all writers, regardless of age, experience, or any other defining factor.
Do NOT send us work that is misogynistic, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise oppressive or exploitative in nature.
We ask for First North American Serial Rights. You (the writer) retain all legal rights to your work; though please credit The Aurora Journal as where your work has been featured. Once your work has been published here, you may submit it to other publications.
By submitting your work to us, you’re agreeing to possible publication on our site and across our social media platforms. We also consider all submissions for print projects but will reach out to you before inclusion. We will ALWAYS credit you for your work.
